Day 1. Arrive Siem Reap, Embark
Cruise On arrival in Siem Reap, be met at the
airport by an APT representative. Transfer to the port for a short boat
ride that will take you past floating fishing villages to your ship for
the start of your luxury Mekong River cruise. After settling in to your
suite, enjoy lunch as your river ship sets off over the lake of Tonle
Sap. This evening, meet your fellow travellers over a delicious Welcome
Dinner on board.
Day 2. Kampong Chhnang, Kampong
Tralach, Oudong A small boat excursion today takes you
into the wetlands that form the mouth of the Tonle Sap river.
Afterwards, cruise to Kampong Tralach. Here, enjoy an ox-cart ride past
rice fields and a small village. Visit the town’s pagodas then travel to
Oudong, the former royal capital. Visit the Buddhist monastery then
rejoin your ship in Prek K’dam.
Day 3. Chong Koh, Phnom Penh Take a walk through the silk-weaving
village of Chong Koh this morning. Later, on arrival in Phnom Penh, take
a walking tour to Wat Phnom, one of the city’s most important pagodas.
Afterwards, return to the ship for dinner, followed by a special Khmer
folk performance on board.
Day 4. Phnom Penh On a morning tour, explore Cambodia’s
capital. Visit the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda as well as
Cambodia’s national museum. After lunch on board, an excursion leads to
the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.
Day 5. On Board, Border Crossing Tan Chau. Spend today on board as you
cruise towards the Vietnamese border. In the afternoon, perhaps attend a
fruit-carving demonstration while the border formalities are carried
out. Later, arrive in Tan Chau.
Day 6. Tan Chau, Sa Dec After breakfast, board a small boat and
visit a floating fish farm. Then go ashore and tour Tan Chau by rickshaw
before your ship continues towards Sa Dec.
Day 7. Sa Dec, Cai Be In the morning, board a local boat and
pass floating markets on the way to Sa Dec. Here, a tour takes you to
Thien Hau Pagoda, the Fujian Temple and more. After lunch, a local boat
will take you to Cai Be, to visit the spectacular floating markets.
Tonight, enjoy a Farewell Dinner on board.
Day 8. Disembark Cruise, Ho Chi Minh City Your cruise comes to an end with a
transfer to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City if required.
